About Me
I've always enjoyed math, but it took me a while to realize what exactly about math captivated me. I began college in Electrical Engineering and slowly moved towards increasingly pure fields, accumulating degrees along the way. After a semester without any math courses, I realized that I was missing something. Despite my engineering and physics classes handing me plenty of equations to solve, it wasn’t satisfying my craving for math. The next semester I added an introduction to proofs course to my already full schedule. This course revolutionized the way I thought about problems and showed me a new world of mathematics that I had never seen before. I was hooked. So I continued to take at least one math course each semester for the rest of my undergraduate career. Before the proofs class, I saw math as simply a few processes used to find the “right” answer to certain questions. After the class, I see math as a way of distilling any question down to its most basic principles to find the richest answers.
After graduating with a double major in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Clemson, I decided to make the jump to Mathematics and get a Masters also at Clemson. After graduation, I decided to postpone further education and take up a job with TAE technologies. One day, I may go back to get a PhD, but at the moment, I am enjoying developing revolutionary technology at TAE.
Since leaving academia, I have begun to miss the teaching opportunities that the academic environment fosters. So in my free time, I have picked up tutoring mathematics. If you are interested, check out my page on Tutoring.
When I'm not working or tutoring, I enjoy playing racquetball, hiking, and playing videogames with friends.
